2011 Buick Enclave PAThe 2011 Buick Enclave is back for a new model year as a smooth and luxurious family hauler. The Enclave offers a large and comfortable interior space, and it seats seven or eight. The Enclave has a nice, smooth ride, and its modern V6 engine provides smooth power and good fuel economy for a vehicle this size. The 2011 Buick Enclave is offered in CX and CXL1 and CXL2 trim levels, each with front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). All come with the 3.6-liter 24-valve V6 with direct injection and variable valve timing, making 288 horsepower.  Safety features that come standard include dual front airbags, front side airbags, side-curtain side airbags with rollover deployment, OnStar emergency communications, tire-pressure monitor, anti-lock brakes and StabiliTrak electronic stability control with traction control and rollover mitigation. The Enclave carries-on with minimal changes for 2011. What sets the 2011 Enclave apart is its modern cabin, with stylish illumination, crisp graphics, genuine wood trim and nice leather. The seats are comfortable, and it can be ordered with a second-row bench seat or luxurious captain's chairs, depending on whether seven- or eight-passenger capacity is needed. Despite remaining mostly unchanged in its four years on the market, Buick's full-size three-row crossover continues to be a very appealing choice in a very competitive segment.

Powering the new Buick Enclave

New Buick Enclave For Sale PAFor 2011, a 3.6-liter V-6 is the only engine available in the Enclave. It pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission. When properly equipped, the Enclave can tow up to 4,500 pounds. The Buick Enclave combines the smooth ride and responsive handling of a car with the cargo capability and high seating position of a sport utility vehicle. EPA fuel economy estimates stand at 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway and 19 mpg combined for front-wheel-drive models, while all-wheel-drive versions rate 16/22/18. The Buick Enclave offers brisk acceleration, from 0 to 60 in the low eight-second-range, quite quick for an SUV of this size. The suspension on the Enclave is far more sophisticated, far sharper in handling and far more compliant and comfortable than many in its class. The rear suspension is especially effective, and uses elaborate aluminum H-arms to put the wheels out as far as possible to the corners and allow for a wide, flat load floor.

Design of the 2011 Enclave

Find 2011 Buick Enclave PABoth Enclave trim levels feature a contemporary design that incorporates trademark styling cues associated with Buicks of the past. The long body shell is anything but boxy, with curvy, swoopy, and sexy shapes from every angle. All of the front lighting elements use clear lenses, with lots of different elements to please the eye and light the road. Everything under the bumper is kept simple and clean to draw the eye to that massive grille. The standard tires are 18-inches on seven-spoke alloy wheels, with 19-inch and 20-inch wheels and tires optional, and the big wheel and tire packages certainly add to the visual punch of the Enclave. The roof and the side windows are done in a gracefully decreasing sweep from front to rear, accented by bright-metal roof bars that follow the roof's curvature perfectly front to back. The rear glass is quite large, and is convex-shaped, coming to a point just above the Buick tri-shield logo and above the wide-screen taillamps. Under the rear bumper is a diffuser panel and dual exhausts with bright tips, making for one of the tastiest rear-end treatments in the crossover segment.

'11 Buick Enclave Interior

PA 2011 Buick EnclaveAlthough it shares its platform with a pair of GM cousins known as the Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia, the Buick Enclave sports its own identity. Third-row access is facilitated by a tilt-and-slide function for the second-row seats. The Enclave offers a luxurious interior with an extensive list of features and amenities. Inside, the second-row bucket seats slide forward and back, and the second and third rows fold to provide extra cargo room. There's lots of convenient cubby storage and the Enclave offers 115 cubic feet of cargo space with all the seats folded down. Even the base model is nicely equipped with partial power front seats, a tilt-and-telescoping leather/wood steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, OnStar and a six-speaker CD/MP3 audio system with an auxiliary audio jack and satellite radio.

Conclusions

The 2011 Buick Enclave is at the top of GM's newest crossover SUVs. Like its GMC Acadia sibling, the Enclave offers three rows of seats standard, with seating for up to eight passengers. The Enclave will go head-to-head with the Volvo XC90 and Acura MDX, among others. Among the Buick Enclave's many strengths are its powerful V6, comfortable and quiet ride, massive cargo capacity and excellent crash-test scores. Overall, though, the Buick Enclave stands as a solid choice for families looking for space, style and luxury at a price that won't break the bank.
